Atifactory Download stalls

pslack
Hello ,

I am using artifactory to deploy our final product images.  The product is a single file roughly 350 Mb in size.  Artifactory is running on Mac OSX 10.8.  When I download the files on my local lan there is no trouble.  When I load via our VPN or via our NAT redirected port, artifactory generally freezes in the middle of the download.  Any hints at why this might be happening?

Sounds like a problem (or a feature) with your VPN.

As a troubleshooting step, could you try a different server or something? (Maybe turn on the mac's FTP and/or web server, see if you can download large-ish files that way.)

My guess would be the VPN has a maximum http transfer or something set.

Hi,

I had a similar issue: My situation was that curl returned “connection reset by peer” and aborted the download.
I found that this was not related to Artifactory, since also downloads that were hosted directly on Tomcat (no Artifactory) stalled.
I’ve increased connectionTimeout in server.xml (http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-7.0-doc/config/http.html) to one hour.
After this change those downloads that stalled and terminate before now paused for several minutes and then continued.
So I guess it was a network issue.

Best, Peter
