Configure a remote repository that requires basic-auth ¿?

Ramón Manjavacas Ortiz
Hi all,

I've to configure a remote repository in Artifactory that requires
basic authentication (login and password). The remote repository is
available in Nexus. Is there any way to configure? Does Artifactory
support this kind of configuration?

Thanks

Re: Configure a remote repository that requires basic-auth ¿?

Hi Hugh,

    Thanks...

Finally, I solved the problem using a URL like
'http://username:password@urlrepository' when I configured the remote
respository. The artifactory instance  is behind a proxy and the
user/password of both sites are different...

Re: Configure a remote repository that requires basic-auth ¿?

HughG_TMVSE
Hi again, Ramón,

that's not a great solution because, over HTTP (as opposed to HTTPS), you'll be sending the password unencrypted in the URL.

You can set up a number of proxies, as described in http://www.jfrog.com/confluence/display/RTF/Managing+Proxies, and connect each remote repo with a proxy, as described on the page I sent previously.  The username/password for the proxy and for the repo can be different.

Hope that helps,
