LDAP error when result set is larger than 1000 entries

aw110f
Hi,

I'm trying to setup LDAP authentication in Artifactory and I'm running into this error where the result set about 4000 entries.

2015-09-15 20:52:52,285 [http-nio-8081-exec-8] [ERROR] (o.a.s.l.AbstractLdapService:68) - Error connecting to the LDAP server:
org.springframework.ldap.SizeLimitExceededException: [LDAP: error code 4 - Sizelimit Exceeded]; nested exception is javax.naming.SizeLimitExceededException: [LDAP: error code 4 - Sizelimit Exceeded]; rem
aining name 'ou=Employees,ou=People'

Anyways to fix this?

This Google post seems to be related to my problem.

Thanks

Re: LDAP error when result set is larger than 1000 entries

Hello,

Has anyone gotten around this issue?  I have set up Artifactory recently and have several other servers doing LDAP searches similar to this without issue.

Is there any way to pass a parameter or set configuration for java while starting Artifactory?  for example setMaxResults=0 or something.

thanks,

We ran into this when upgrading from 3.9.4 to 4.5.1.  Our searches were working with no issues then the same LDAP groups we had configured in Artifactory started failing with this error.  The only way we were able to get around the issue was to add a value to the Search Base setting for the LDAP group in Artifactory.  Now it finds the group, but essentially we're pointing directly to the group itself.  I believe this will cause any other searches to fail if we were to ever add a nested group under this one.
