Replication and build info

kendrick.martin
I'm doing a POC with Artifactory and using replication. I'm also using the REST API to return the download URL from a repo to our CI processes to deploy. So I'm running

curl -X "POST" -d '{"buildName": "$BUILDNAME", "buildNumber": "LATEST", "repos": ["$REPO"], "archiveType": "tar.gz"}' http://myartifactserver/artifactory/api/search/buildArtifacts -H "Content-Type: application/json"

In doing this I realized that after replicating, the new artifacts no longer have any build info associated with them. Is there a way I can add this after the fact? Or get it to replicate successfully? They still exist as build "properties" but the REST calls don't work, and the Builds tab for that build is empty.

Thanks,
Kendrick

Re: Replication and build info

Hi Kendrick,

This is indeed a known issue. The replication add-on provides a way to synchronize the content & properties (artifacts and metadata) from one repository to another repository in a remote Artifactory instance.

Although, Artifactory does not support replication of the build info, you can transport it to your other instance by using our export and import feature .

HTH,

Aviv.

Hi Aviv,

is this a bug you are going to fix or is this by design?

Has there been any change on this, or is there still no GUI method for replicating build info along with artifacts? (Currently running 3.1.1 but can upgrade if needed.)
