Sync delete from main to proxies

fengyu225
Hi,

I'm wondering if artifactory proxy servers remove artifact from remote repo cache as soon as the artifact get deleted by garbage collection of artifactory main server? If not, would anyone suggest how to monitor constantly the artifacts that exists in proxies but not in main?
A straightforward way is get list of artifacts in proxies and list of artifacts in main and get difference. But this will put LOTS of load on main server.
I'm also thinking of writing an artifactory plugin that store artifacts name when it get deleted, and then monitor current proxy cache cannot contains these artifacts. Is this a good way?

Thanks!
Yu

Hi Yu,

Artifactory _Pro_ will do something like this -- see the documentation about "Sync Deleted Artifacts" under https://www.jfrog.com/confluence/display/RTF/Repository+Replication.  I assume it has a smarter, more efficient way to find out what has been deleted since last sync.  (BTW, it's not documented except in runtime error messages but, at least for pull replication from A to B, the username at B which is pulling from A must have Deploy permission on the repo at A.)

You could script it yourself, as you say, but is that effort really worth the ~$2,700, which will also get you lots of other great features like the REST API? :-)
